What is a digital luggage tag, and how is it different from an address tag?
A digital luggage tag carries a QR code instead of your address, and the TravelID has an NFC chip as well. Whoever finds your suitcase scans it with their phone camera and lands on a page where they can message you right away. Unlike a written address tag, your details aren't on display on your luggage. You can change your contact channels in your account at any time, and the finder needs neither an app nor an account.
Do my address and phone number really stay private?
Yes. There's nothing personal on the TravelID: no name, no address and no number. Anyone who reads it learns nothing about you. Everything runs through our platform, which works in line with the GDPR, and you stay in control.
My suitcase has gone missing. How does the TravelID on the handle help now?
As soon as someone picks up your suitcase, for example at the baggage carousel, in lost property or at a hotel reception, they can scan the TravelID and write to you. You then get a message with the location right away, instead of waiting days for a tracing system. For flights, one rule still applies: report the loss while you're still in the baggage hall and file a PIR (Property Irregularity Report). The TravelID shortens the way back, and the report secures your claims.

If you return only part of a set, we recalculate the volume discount for the quantity you keep (details in the cancellation policy). For defects, the statutory two-year warranty applies.
Can I manage several TravelIDs, or a TravelID and a DriveID, under one account?
Yes, as many IDs as you like, in one account. That's handy for the whole family's luggage. In a set of three, one TravelID is free. If you already have a DriveID, the TravelID simply goes into the same account.
What belongs on a luggage tag? Your full address?
