If you haven't already: in the PayPal app under Profile → PayPal.me, set up your personal link — it takes a minute and is free.

Common questions about the PayPal QR code
What do I need for the PayPal QR code?
Just a PayPal.me link. You set it up for free in the PayPal app: Profile → PayPal.me → choose a name. The code here then links directly to your payment page.
Where do I find my PayPal.me name?
In the PayPal app or at paypal.me — there you'll see your link in the form paypal.me/yourname. In the generator you only enter the part after the slash.
Can I set a fixed amount?
Yes, including the currency (EUR, USD, GBP or CHF). The amount is then already filled in at payment — it can still be changed, for example to round up.
Are there any fees?
The QR code itself is completely free. Normal PayPal terms apply to the payment: payments to friends and family in the same currency are usually free, while the usual PayPal fee applies to goods and services.
Does it work without PayPal?
For payments to a bank account there's the GiroCode: it fills in a SEPA transfer in the banking app — with no PayPal account at all.
